Giovanni Greco was born in Catania \u2013 Italy in 1953.
\nAfter incomplete studies in biology and further artistic education, he \u201cenrolled at the School of Nudes in Catania
\nand in 1980 began his painting career, drawing inspiration initially from Magritte\u201d and later from De Chirico, where it was possible to resolve two seemingly contradictory layers\u2014dream and objective reality\u2014into a kind of absolute reality.<\/p>\n
It is the world of “\u00e8ndon\u00e8x\u00f2”, a term coined by the Artist \u2013 (\u00e9ndon-\u00e9x\u00f2) where the gaze is clearly directed toward oneself and inside things, but at the same time reveals his desire to make his painting feel closer to the observer’s lived experience, bringing up from the depths of the soul new dark forces that gradually replace the clear and simple spaces of reason.
\nAt the foundation of his research is a strong drive aimed at resolving the great dilemmas of existence and the relationship between self and the world, trying to interpret “thought” sometimes Incontrovertible Passages – work by artist Giovanni Greco ineffable as a means to cast a new light on the fundamental problems from which our mind never ceases to free itself, staging visual blackmail, blackmail of the soul; further on he is attracted by metaphysical painting and mainly by the works of G.
